At first while read this book I was kind of mad because the characters spoke so childishly and I found it frustrating. But, I later realised that, that is part of the magic. It's a wonderful story of how two different species of people begin a journey to become one. I'm thrilled that there are more of this series and I can't wait to dig in.Product details

this whole series is wound around these people that are so far back in time that it is hard to comprehend how they lived - I thoroughly enjoyed all the books in the series and was sorry to get to the unexpected end. Elcie
Not as imaginary as clan of the cave bear, still full of more recent ideas on the Neanderthals and the dwindling of their numbers.
Similar theme as Clan of the Cave Bear, with roles reversed. The Neanderthal woman is the heroine. An interesting read with a plot that felt somewhat more believable than the Auel book.
The map that would help understand the relationships was sideways and hard to read. There were too many characters with too many names. Which group was which took a long time to understand. The Pidgeon English was not necessary since we know that each culture's language is completely adequate for them. In the end, it was a pretty good yarn.

Good book. I enjoyed it very much. Science has decided that the Neanderthals haven't disappeared from the earth, but survive in all of us except the Africans who never left Africa. The Neanderthals weren't wiped out, they were absorbed. Our DNA proves it.
I enjoyed this book an traveling back to a time when life was very different. Ij you like Jean Auel's books you will like this author as well.
I got this book free for my and I love it. I bought the other books in the series too. If you like Jean Auel's book Clan of the Cave Bear then you are going to enjoy this book!
